Qnity’s Privacy Statement

When you use our online services, you trust us with your information. At QnityTM and its affiliates (“Qnity”, “we”, “our”, “us”), your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Statement explains how we collect, use, share, and retain your information. It also explains where you can go to exercise your rights and choices about how your personal information is used. At Qnity, we want you to feel as comfortable as possible visiting our websites (“Sites”), purchasing our products (“Products”), and using our services (“Services”). This Statement applies to you regardless of your geographic location during your interaction with Qnity. By providing personal information to Qnity, you agree to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Statement. However, our Career Site Privacy Notice and Employee Privacy Notice govern how we process your personal information as part of a recruiting or employment relationship.
All changes to this Privacy Statement will be effective upon posting to Qnity’s website without any other notice to you, unless an alternative notice is required under applicable law. View the “LAST UPDATED” legend at the top of this page to see when this Privacy Statement was last revised.
As a reminder, privacy and data protection laws in different countries and regions around the world give individuals certain rights in relation to their personal data. We conduct our privacy practices according to this Privacy Statement and the relevant laws of the countries or regions in which we interact with you. If you are making a report about any suspected violations of relevant laws or regulations by our personnel, Qnity’s use of personal information will be governed by the Qnity’s Ethics Hotline Data Protection & Privacy Notice which can be found by accessing the Ethics Hotline Web Portal.
Collection and Use of Personal Information
Qnity collects personal information from and about individuals for a variety of purposes. In some cases, Qnity requests personal information from you directly. In other cases, Qnity obtains personal information by noting how you and your devices interact with the Site and our Services. Examples of personal information include:
- Name;
- Postal address (including billing and shipping address);
- Telephone and/or fax number;
- Email address;
- Credit card number;
- National ID number, such as Social Security Number;
- Company issued ID number;
- Passwords and reminder questions/answers;
- IP address (to the extent it is considered personal information under applicable laws);
- Location of device data (to the extent it is considered personal information under applicable laws); and
- Web browsing information (to the extent it is considered personal information under applicable laws).
We will only collect and process personal information if we have a legal basis of doing so under applicable data protection or privacy laws (e.g. if we have a legitimate interest, if we enter into a contractual relationship/initiation of a contract, or if we have your consent to do so).
Unless specifically requested, we ask that you not send us, and you not disclose to us, any sensitive personal information (e.g., information related to racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion or other beliefs, health, biometrics or genetic characteristics, criminal background)
If you disclose any personal information relating to other people directly to us or to our service providers in connection with our products and/or services, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to do so (including, where required under applicable laws, obtained the relevant consent) and to permit us to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Statement.
You can choose to follow Qnity on social media. Your use of social media could result in the collection or sharing of information about you, depending on the feature. The details we receive depends on your social network account privacy settings. We encourage you to review the privacy practices and settings of the social media sites you use to make sure you understand the personal information that may be collected, used, and shared by those sites.
We acquire data from third-party sources that are either publicly or commercially available. This information includes personal information such as your name, address, email address, preferences, interests, and demographic data. We combine personal information collected through our Services with other information that we or third parties collect about you in other contexts, such as our communications with you via email or phone, or your customer service records. We treat such combined information as personal information and protect it in accordance with this Statement.
Qnity uses your personal information to develop and provide our Products and Services to you, to personalize, improve, and promote our interactions with you, to manage our business, and to ensure compliance with applicable laws, including specifically:
- For Account Registration and Servicing.
- We may use your personal data to create, maintain, supplement, service, change or delete your account with us.
- If you have a customer account with us, we may collect certain personal data for security purposes in order to verify your authorized access to your accounts with us.
- We may use your personal data to answer customer service questions you may have about our products and services and to follow up with you about your experience.
- To Communicate with You.
- We and our third-party partners may use your personal data to communicate with you about our Products and Services, including through chat, customer service and marketing channels, and to share offers for third-party products and services that we think you may find useful.
- To Improve and Develop New Products and Services.
- We may use your personal data to personalize your interactions and experiences with us.
- We may use your personal data to improve the quality of and to develop new products and services.
- We may use any information you give to us in surveys or other forms of feedback.
- We may combine your information with that from other customers in order to better understand our products and services and how we may improve them.
- To Provide Our Products and Services and Operate Our Business.
- We and our third-party partners may use your information to operate our business, including fulfilling your requests, providing you with technical or customer support, and complying with legal requirements.
- We and our third-party partners may use your information to help us protect our products, services, workforce, and customers, including to combat fraud and protect your information.
- We may conduct research using your information alone or in combination with that of other customers.
- We use personal data to create aggregated or de-identified data, which we may use and disclose for any purpose.
We may also use personal information as we believe to be necessary or appropriate (and, in some jurisdictions, we may not be required to obtain your consent): (a) to comply with applicable laws, including laws outside your country of residence; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to requests from public and government authorities including those outside your country of residence; (d) to enforce Qnity terms and conditions; (e) to protect Qnity's operations; (f) to protect Qnity’s rights, privacy, safety or property, you or others; and/or (g) to allow Qnity to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.
Collection and Use of Other Information
In addition to personal information, Qnity collects other information not related to your specific identity or relate to you as an identifiable individual.
Other information includes:
- Browser information;
- Information collected through cookies, pixel tags and other technologies;
- Demographic information and other information provided by you;
- Your IP address; and
- Aggregated or anonymized information.
We and our third-party partners may automatically collect usage information when you interact with us, including about your activity on our services. For instance, we and our third-party partners use cookies, beacons, pixels, and other tracking technologies(“Cookies”) to automatically collect technical information, such as URL, cookie data, IP address, device type, unique device IDs, device attributes, network connection type (e.g. Wi-Fi, 3G, LTE, Bluetooth) and provider, network and device performance, browser type, language, and operating system. We and our third-party partners may also monitor and record information about the content, products and services you interact with, including the pages and videos you view, the links you click, the content provided through chat, forums and forms, and similar information about your user experience, which help us measure the effectiveness of our websites, further develop our products and services, personalize your interactions with us, and aid in the delivery advertisements. Please read our Cookie Policy to learn how we and our service providers use cookies and similar tracking technologies, including to serve interest-based advertising to you.
We use Adobe Analytics, or potentially other analytical tools such as ScanTrust, etc., which uses cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyze information about your use of the Services and report on activities and trends. This service may also collect information regarding the use of other websites, apps and online resources.
We also use this other information for purposes such as calculating Site usage levels, helping diagnose server problems, administering the Site and presenting content that is tailored to your country.
Please be aware that, in some jurisdictions, such non-personal, other information may be considered personal information, in which case we shall process such personal information in accordance with this Privacy Statement.
Automated Decision Making
From time to time, we may process your IP address, location, cookies or previous browsing behavior data through Automated Decision Making for the purpose of enhancing your browsing experience at our Sites, and tailor the content we present to you to better match your preferences and interests.
You may have certain rights under applicable data protection or privacy laws in respect of Automated Decision Making, such as the following:
- where we process your Personal Information through Automated Decision Making to send direct marketing messages or push notifications to you, you have the right to opt-out from such Automated Decision Making processing; and
- where the decision made through Automated Decision Making has a material impact on your personal interest, you also have the right to request an explanation of such decision, and the right to refuse our processing through Automated Decision Making.

How We Disclose Your Information
Qnity will only share your information as outlined in this Privacy Statement. Your personal and other information may be disclosed:
- Third Party Service Providers. We may share your information, including personal data, with third party service providers who we contract with to help us provide our products and services and operate our business, including fulfilling your requests, providing you with technical or customer support and chat functionality, protecting our products and services, combatting fraud, protecting your information, verifying compliance with Qnity policies and applicable laws, preparing and delivering advertising and marketing content, providing content services, personalizing ads, studying the effectiveness of our ad campaigns, and understanding and measuring interactions with our online properties. In your interactions with us, it may be necessary for us to sync, link or connect your information with third parties, including providing personal data necessary to identify or authenticate your requested interactions. In some cases, your consent for these interactions will be required by us, by the third party or by both. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any third party that you choose to share your personal data with, as we are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
- Information Sharing Between Qnity Entities. This Statement applies to all of your interactions with Qnity regardless of geography. Except where prohibited by law, regulation, or a contractual obligation, we share your information across Qnity (including among our affiliates and subsidiaries) for the purposes described in this Statement. When we share information between Qnity entities, we do so in the context of technical and organizational safeguards, including contractual measures in place between those entities, which for relevant transfers include the European Commission approved Standard Contractual Clauses. You can contact us for more details about those Clauses. You may obtain a list of Qnity’s subsidiaries attached as an exhibit to Qnity’s annual report (form 10k) in the US SEC’s site: EDGAR Search Results (sec.gov). The local affiliate with whom you are interacting are each responsible for the management of the personal information which it processes for its own purposes
- Following the Law and Protecting Qnity. We may share your information with courts, law enforcement or regulatory agencies, or other government bodies when we have a good faith belief we are required or permitted to do so by applicable law, regulation, or legal process. We may also disclose your information if we believe it is appropriate to enforce our Terms of Use or other contracts, to protect the rights, property or safety of Qnity and our Products, Services, or workforce, or to protect or assist others.
- Credit Reporting. We may share information about your creditworthiness with credit bureaus, consumer reporting agencies, and card associations. Late payments, missed payments, or other defaults on your account may be reflected in your credit report and consumer report. We may also share your information with other companies, lawyers, credit bureaus, agents, government agencies, and card associations in connection with issues related to fraud, credit, or debt collection.
- Sale of Our Business. If we sell, merge, or transfer any part of our business, information about you may be shared, sold or transferred as part of that transaction. We may also share your personal data with current or future corporate parents, subsidiaries or affiliates.
- De-identified or Aggregated Data. We may de-identify or aggregate your information, alone or in combination with other individuals’ information, and share such de-identified or aggregated information freely.
- With your Consent. Other than as set out above, we may also share your information for other purposes with your consent or at your direction.
We may also disclose personal information as we believe to be necessary or appropriate (and, in some jurisdictions, we may not be required to obtain your consent): (a) to comply with applicable laws, including laws outside your country of residence; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to requests from public and government authorities including those outside your country of residence; (d) to enforce Qnity’s terms and conditions; (e) to protect Qnity’s operations; (f) to protect Qnity’s rights, privacy, safety or property, you or others; and/or (g) to allow Qnity to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.
We do not sell consumer personal information to third parties.
Managing Your Information
If you would like to request to review, correct, update, suppress or delete, or object to, restrict or otherwise limit Qnity’s use of, your personal information that has been previously provided to Qnity, or if you would like to request to receive an electronic copy of your personal information for purposes of transmitting it to another company (to the extent this right to data portability is provided to you by applicable law), or exercise other data subject rights to which you are entitled under data privacy or protection laws in your jurisdiction, please see “Contact Us” below. You may also “Contact Us” to opt-out from receiving future electronic marketing messages and request that we not share your personal information with unaffiliated third parties for their marketing purposes.
In your request, please make clear what information you would like to have changed, whether you would like to have your personal information suppressed from a Qnity database or otherwise let Qnity know what limitations you would like to put on Qnity’s use of your personal information. We will try to comply with your request as soon as reasonably practicable.
International Data Transfers
Where permitted by applicable law, Qnity may transfer, process or store your personal data in any country or region where we have facilities, business operations, or engage service providers, or where the other recipients of personal data described in this Statement are located. By using our Site or otherwise interacting with us, you acknowledge the transfer of your personal data to, and the processing and storage of your personal data in, countries outside of your country of residence or the point of collection.
Some countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country. However, Qnity has taken appropriate safeguards to require that your personal data remains protected in accordance with law when it is being transferred, processed and stored.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA): some non-EEA countries are recognized by the European Commission (EC) as providing an adequate level of data protection according to EEA standards. For transfers from the EEA to countries with data protection levels that are not considered adequate, we have put in place adequate measures, such as standard contractual clauses adopted by the EC to protect your Personal Information. You may obtain a copy of these measures by contacting us as set out under “Contact Us”.
Retention of Personal Information
Qnity stores your personal information for as long as you use the Services, and no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the information was collected, or for which it is legitimately further processed. Thereafter, Qnity retains personal information for a period of time set forth in its corporate retention schedules. Additionally, Qnity retains personal information according to the timeframes set forth in relevant customer agreements, or in lieu of an agreement, for as long as a legitimate business purpose exists.
How We Protect Your Information
We seek to use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, and other security measures to protect personal information within our organization from growing threats. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or data storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We therefore recommend that you use every precaution to protect your information when using the internet and any other links. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please immediately notify us in accordance with the contact methods provided below.
Third Party Links
This Privacy Statement does not address, and we are not responsible for, the privacy, information or other practices of any third parties, including any third party operating any site to which the Site contains a link. The inclusion of a link on the Site does not imply endorsement of the linked site by Qnity. We are not responsible for the information collection, use, disclosure or security policies or practices of any web developer, provider, social media platform provider, operating system provider, wireless service provider or device manufacturer, including with respect to any Personal Information you disclose to other organizations through or in connection with the Site.
Do Not Track
Qnity does not currently respond to browser do-not-track signals.
Use of the Site by Minors
In general, Qnity does not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children, as defined by local law. If you believe that we have collected personal information about a child, please Contact Us so that we can delete the information.

Controller Entity
The controller entity of your Personal Information are the entities set out further in Appendix 1 below. All references to “Qnity”, “we”, “us”, “our” with respect to Personal Information of individuals located within Mainland China shall refer to the entities mentioned in this paragraph.
How Personal Information is Disclosed
If you wish to have more information about the third parties who process your Personal Information for their own purposes, or if you would like to exercise your statutory rights with respect to those third parties, please contact us as set out in “Contact Us” above.
Cross-Border Transfer
We will only transfer and/or disclose your Personal Information to our affiliates and other third parties (including our service providers) outside Mainland China upon obtaining your separate consent, and in accordance with applicable data protection laws in Mainland China. Qnity may not be able to provide certain services or products to you if we do not carry out such transfer. Qnity has adopted contractual and security measures to protect your relevant rights and interests in relation to the transfer. If you have any queries regarding how we carry out cross-border transfers, or if you would like to exercise your statutory rights with respect to the third parties located outside Mainland China, please contact us as set out under “Contact Us” (see above).
Data Subject Rights
In addition to the data subject rights set out above, you (and your next of kin) are also entitled to additional data subject rights subject to and under applicable data protection laws, including:
- Rights relating to Automated Decision Making. Where Automated Decision Making is involved in processing your Personal Information, you have the right not to be subjected to decisions made merely through Automated Decision Making, including profiling, which produces legal effect for you or has a similar significant effect. If you believe you have been subject to an automated decision which has a material impact on your personal interest, you can contact us and ask us to explain the decision, and you also have the right to refuse the decisions made only through Automated Decision-Making methods;
- Right to withdraw consent. We may ask for your consent to process your Personal Information in specific cases. When we do this, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. We will stop further processing as soon as possible after the withdrawal of your consent. However, this does not affect the lawfulness of the processing before consent was withdrawn;
- Right to supplement Personal Information. You have the right to provide us with more Personal Information; and
- Right to require us to explain the rules of our processing of your Personal Information. You have the right to ask us to explain the details of our processing activities in relation to your Personal Information.
Retention Period
Generally, we will keep your Personal Information for a period of three (3) years upon the end of your engagement with us, unless a longer retention period is required or allowed by law.
Use of Site by Children
Qnity’s Site is not targeted at children less than fourteen (14) years of age and Qnity does not knowingly collect Personal Information from children.
To the extent children’s data will be collected and processed, Qnity will only process personal data of children if there is a legal basis to do so (e.g. if we have obtained consent as required under applicable laws) and in accordance with this Privacy Statement (and any other notices which we are required to provide under applicable laws). Please kindly provide this Privacy Statement to your parents or guardians. We retain our right to reject providing services and products to you if we have no legal basis to do so.
